los angeles REGIONAL fire station no. 82

> LEED Certification ® Gold Level (Fire Station)
> LEED Certification ® Silver Level (Annex)

Station 82 is a regional station on two separate sites. The new fire station is located on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Van Ness. Due to tight site constraints, the 31,300 SF fire station is three stories; the handball court is indoors, and fire personnel parking is underground. This station exceeded the City’s minimum LEED requirements with Gold Certification.

Station 82 features a vegetated roof, which achieves the City’s requirements for stormwater management and greatly lowers heat gain on the roof of the building.

The Annex site has a new 5,800 SF training classroom and garage storage for reserve apparatus. The existing 4,800 SF station building was seismically upgraded to become additional storage for emergency cache and a reserve truck for this regional station.

Project completed while Candice Wong and Jim Duffy managed the Public Safety Studio at another firm. Jim was the Project Architect for the Fire Station, Candice was the Project Manager and Sustainability Design Manager for the Fire Station and the Annex.
