pinnacles national monument visitor center

> USGBC LEED Certification ® Platinum Level (Visitor Contact Station)

The new facilities for the park include an entry station and visitor parking area along with the visitor contact station, a new dormitory and a maintenance building. The new Maintenance Building acts as the support structure for the rangers. It houses emergency equipment, shop and supply spaces, and the battery system for the roof mounted photovoltaic system. The 40 kilowatt solar panel system is the sole source of electrical power for all new and existing facilities on the west end of the park and with the use of on site propane, well, waste treatment system, and microwave tower, this project is completely off the grid.

Project completed while Candice Wong was the Public Safety Studio Manager with another firm. Candice was the Sustainability Design Manager and Design/Build Team Coordinator for this project.
