sacramento fire station no.30

Station 30 is a 12,550 SF prototype station in the Natomas residential development. A one-story building with three drive-through apparatus bays and one back-in BC bay, the station houses two companies with nine firefighters, two captains, and one battalion chief. There is on-site fueling and emergency power for entire facility.

The interior uses a traditional floor plan design and the exterior design responds to the unique characteristics of the surrounding planned development with a high-end residential and mixed-use commercial neighborhood. Site challenges included concurrent implementation with Sacramento Fire Station No. 20, built by one general contractor, allowing the City of Sacramento to occupy two new fire stations within a condensed schedule and to better control general conditions, costs, and schedule.

Project completed while Candice Wong was the Public Safety Studio Manager at another firm. Candice was the Project Designer, Project Manager, and the City's Advisor on project compliance with the Fire Program and prototype fire station model.
