saN JOSE FIRE STATION NO.35

> USGBC LEED® Silver Certification

This 12,400 SF two-company, three-apparatus bay battalion station is based on the prototype battalion station from the Fire Facilities Program that Candice and Jim developed for the San Jose Fire Department. The design team worked with the City to achieve USGBC LEED Silver certification, exceeding the City’s certification requirements. The station was built on the corner of an existing community center which remained fully operational throughout construction.

This stations serves the City’s Edenvale neighborhood, and reduces the response time to one of the City’s most culturally diverse areas.

Project completed while Candice Wong and Jim Duffy co-managed the Public Safety Studio at another firm. Jim was the Design Architect and Project Manager; Candice was the City's Advisor on project compliance with the Fire Facility Program and LEED documentation.
