Position: Project Architect
Purpose: To lead the technical design elements of projects, project design, AutoCAD drafting, research, and code analysis; to coordinate project consultants; to assist in project management duties; and to mentor and direct the work of junior staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Interact with clients and represent TEN OVER STUDIO in a professional and courteous manner, understanding how your performance reflects on TEN OVER STUDIO’s reputation and ability to secure return clients.
Mentor junior staff on technical aspects of the profession.
Travel (moderate amount) to project sites for site analysis, programming, measuring, and construction observation.
Assist Project Managers in developing contract/proposal tasks and budgets.
Lead the technical design aspects of larger and more complex projects.
Oversee production work throughout all project phases.
Act as an expert resource in project design, reviewing CAD work, hand drawings, and modeling produced through all project phases to ensure design integrity.
Provide constructability reviews of construction documentation.
Lead or assist with project code analysis, using expert familiarity with building codes.
Develop project program.
Maintain project schedule and project construction budget.
Attend/Lead client, agency, and consultant meetings as required.
Assist in agency submittals.
Lead the coordination and production of bid and construction administration documentation.
Maintain in-house task budgets through design phases.
Research and respond to bid and construction administration general inquiries, substitution, and design change requests.
Coordinate with consultants and assist the Project Manager in client and agency coordination
Submit timely timecards, reimbursables and billing file reviews
Meet your chargeability target as set annually by TEN OVER STUDIO.
Work collaboratively and communicate effectively and proactively with peers, employees, and management
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
Minimum five (5) years of experience
Current knowledge of professional codes, laws, computer applications, and trends
LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION:
Required:
Architectural license
Valid California driver’s license
Ability to drive a vehicle for company business and comply with TEN OVER STUDIO's Motor Vehicle Policy
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILL:
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and Sketch-up
Proficiency with MS Office
Proficiency with at least one other design software (e.g. PhotoShop, Illustrator, In Design, etc.)
Ability to analyze multiple complex problems and implement technical and creative solutions
Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills
Ability to work in a team
Strong organizational skills and graphic ability
Understanding of basic construction methodology
Ability to create construction details
Knowledge of technical specifications and general conditions
Excellent customer/client service skills and multi-tasking abilities
