TEN OVER STUDIO at Station Design Conference May 2019

How to Build Public Safety Facilities: Fire, Police and EOC's

Firehouse's Station Design Conference offers a personalized opportunity to learn the latest in station design innovations, technology and healthy concepts. The three-day conference focuses on networking with fire and police chiefs, officers, city managers and architects from across the United States. Attendees learn from experts and end users on all levels of a new facility from site selection through to final acceptance of the facility.

Architecture for Law Enforcement Facilities

New to the 2019 conference is a law enforcement track with a focus on police, EOCs and shared public safety facilities.  TEN OVER STUDIO’s public safety expert, Candice Wong, leads a team of five award-winning architecture firms with experience in designing police and public safety facilities in sharing their insights on the latest innovations in police stations and public safety facilities. The law enforcement track targets police chiefs, officers, facility managers and city managers and will showcase the latest innovations and trends in designing police stations, including security technology, equipment and storage centers, labs, and fitness rooms.

Operations-Based Design for Police and Shared Facilities

Candice Wong will deliver a presentation on operations-based design, a method for planning and building the most effective station. Says Candice, “Designing a station that is responsive to the department in every way is the most responsible way to design. It not only creates a safe and secure work environment for personnel, it is also effective for the community that the facility serves.”

Durable and Low Maintenance Fire Stations

One of the primary criteria in selecting construction materials for a new fire station is to make sure they are durable, easy to clean, require minimal maintenance, and can withstand the extended rigors of firefighter use. Candice Wong will deliver a presentation comparing each of the primary interior finishes regarding cost, maintenance, durability, green compliance and appropriate location for application of the material.

Law Enforcement InDEPTH Tabletops

Attendees who have already started their design or building will have the opportunity to meet with one representatives from the team of five award-winning architecture firms for an independent review of their project.

Law Enforcement and Shared Facilities Panel

Candice Wong moderates this forum where attendees are encouraged to ask questions of the panel. Best practices and trends will be highlighted.

The conference runs May 14-16 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois.
