paso robles public safety center
This new 40,000 SF public safety center is located in the heart of the downtown Paso Robles. The facility was designed to a higher standard than the CA Essential Services Act and because of this higher level of structural strengthening, the center operated perfectly during the 2003, 6.5 magnitude earthquake.
This new headquarters facility replaces the City’s antiquated fire and police stations with one building able to accommodate both departments. The facility includes all the mission critical components for daily operations. The police and fire administration offices are combined to share space, staff and resources. The facility has separate men’s and women’s restrooms and locker rooms for police and fire personnel and a shared full-scale gym to accommodate both departments. The public safety center includes a detached building to house the emergency operation center (sufficient for all City and outside departments to utilize), which also doubles as a training classroom on a daily basis.
